“In My Own Bighead” presents a self-effacing exploration of the artist’s inner world, encapsulating the burdens and flights of the creative mind. It portrays an individual on an endless plain, their head replaced by an antiquated television set, a playful nod to the artist’s self-proclaimed ‘overthinking’ and the static noise of incessant inner critique. With a pair of wings attached to the cumbersome device, the artwork wryly comments on the artist’s aspiration to rise above the self-mockery and the sarcastic view they hold of their own intellect and contribution, suggesting a yearning for liberation from the weight of their own satirical self-awareness.
